Faculty Spotlight – Amel Djouadi

Amel Djouadi, originally from North Africa, has a strong educational background in Arabic, French, and a basic understanding of German. She holds a Baccalaureate in Arabic Language and Literature and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Political Science with a minor in Public Administration from the University of Algiers. Additionally, she obtained a Master’s in liberal arts from the University of Arkansas Little Rock, focusing on school management, teaching, and education. Djouadi has conducted in-person and virtual meetings with senior students and their teachers at a local High school in Knoxville to recruit students who were enrolled in Arabic courses. By offering students various opportunities to immerse themselves in the Arabic language and culture, she effectively conveys the depth and importance of learning Arabic beyond the classroom. She networks with students during orientations, departmental activities, and career fairs to promote the Arabic program and its benefits.
