Faculty Spotlight – Jessie Tanner

Dr. Jessie Tanner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Psychology at the University of Tennessee. Her work includes addressing fundamental questions about the evolution of animal behavior and studies on acoustically communicating animals. Before joining the UT family, she completed an NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Biology at the Centre of Evolutionary Biology at University of Western Australia. She has been awarded multiple grants and fellowships with her most recent one being for her project, Unadotsali: Building Belonging in STEM through Participation in Indigenous Language Revitalization.
