Shoes for School Donations and Volunteers

The Knoxville Area Urban League is looking forward to Shoes for School 2021 being in person at Caswell Park again this year on Saturday, August 7th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Set up will begin at 8:00 am. There are no restrictions on the number of volunteers that can assist. Shifts are from 8:00 am-10:00 am or 10:00 am-12:00 pm. If you or someone from your unit would like to donate school supplies and/or volunteer please send the names and shift to communityengagement@utk.edu by July 30th at noon.

School Mania Volunteers

Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs’ School Mania will be held again as a drive thru event at the Jacob Building parking lot in Chilhowee Park, 3500 Knoxville Zoo Drive on Friday, August 6th from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm. Thanks to generous donors they will be giving out 2,500 free pre-filled school supply bags for Knox County Students from pre-K-12th grade. They are looking for volunteers to help with bag packing and on the day of the event.

Packing will take place at the Knoxville Dream Center Warehouse on 1444 Breda Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918 on the following days:

Monday, August 2nd from 8:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm-5:00 pm
Tuesday, August 3rd from 8:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm-5:00 pm
Wednesday, August 4th from 8:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm-5:00 pm

Day of event volunteers should meet at the Jacobs Building parking lot in Chilhowee Park at 3500 Knoxville Zoo Drive on  Friday, August 6 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
