Diversity Scholars Program

The Diversity Scholars Program (DSP) is a new leadership development and professional development opportunity for undergraduate students at UTK who are passionate about mattering and belonging. DSP is a cohort based program and recruits new members on an annual basis. DSP members meet every other week to engage in leadership and professional development training. The ultimate goal is to teach students to help UTK ensure a culture where Vol Is A Verb, by equipping and empowering these students to cultivate inclusive spaces on Rocky Top, and beyond (in their future professional endeavors). In addition to engaging in learning opportunities, DSP members serve as student ambassadors for the Division of Access and Engagement by representing our department at different events both on and off campus. The benefits of the program are as follows: leadership training, professional development, scholarships, opportunities for international and domestic travel, DSP & DAE swag, and networking.

DSP Motto: “Enter to Learn, Depart to Ignite Positive Change”
