Meet the Assistant Director, Education for Access

Maria Martinez serves as the assistant director – education for access in the Office of Assessment Culture and Education. In this role, she coordinates and facilitates educational opportunities to promote an fair and welcoming workplace environment at the University. Before joining, Maria worked in UT’s Division for Student Life, as well as Wake Forest University.

Maria was proudly born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in modern foreign languages and literature from UT, a master’s degree in higher education from Florida State University, and is currently a doctoral candidate in the higher education administration program at UT.

When not working or studying, Maria enjoys traveling, baking, singing in the Knoxville Choral Society, and spending time with her family and pets.
