School of Information Sciences Associate Professor Devendra Potnis and four co-principal investigators were granted a one-year planning grant from the Museum and Library Services to research how rural libraries, 4-H, and the UT Insititute of Agriculture can work together to help rural communities in Tennessee. This project is set out to impact throughout Tennessee, embodying the land-grant mission. Their research will form the creation of a certificate rural librarians can earn so they can work with farmers to build digital literacy.
Dr. Potnis has been with the University of Tennessee for 13 years and his research interests include digital inclusion, information access and services, financial inclusion and information literacy.
